The immune system is made up of many cells that defend our bodies against infection. The HI Virus attacks our immune system and reduces our CD4 cells making it weak and vulnerable to opportunistic infections.

In this section we introduce the human immune system and the importance of CD4 cells. We also detail the lifecycle of HIV and how it attacks our immune systems and progresses to Stage 4 AIDS, making us susceptible to many opportunistic infections.
