Tuberculosis (TB) is the leading cause of death for people living with HIV in South Africa. The good news is that TB is completely curable if you take your medicine properly the first time round. If, however, you are not adherent to your medication, you run the risk of dying from TB.

This programme deals with the effects TB has on HIV positive individuals and explains how TB can also occur outside of the lungs. It also looks at how to treat TB and the possible side-effects that may result. The episode also addresses Multi and Extreme Drug Resistant TB (MDR-TB and XDR-TB).
