We know that HIV attacks our immune system, weakening the body's response to infections. Opportunistic infections of the nervous system therefore become very common in people living with HIV and that can affect the way we think, feel and move. In this programme we will look at the various types of opportunistic infections of the nervous system such as meningitis, stroke and dementia and how they can affect our lives. We also explain the different ways in which we can treat these infections so that we can all lead healthier lives. |
