Antiretrovirals or ARVs are powerful life-saving medicines that suppress the HI virus in those who are HIV positive. One of the biggest challenges in South Africa is the roll out of ARVs so we all need to be clear of the role of ARVs in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

In this programme we explain the different types of ARVs, how they stop HIV from copying itself, their side effects and overall management.
